Langtang Region

The Langtang region trek is also one of the popular and secluded trekking regions in Nepal. Langtang region lies at central Himalayas of Nepal toward the northern side of the Kathmandu valley Langtang valley is also called the 'Valley of Glaciers'. The northern side of the Langtang region is largely protected and managed by the Langtang National Park. Langtang region trek offers you the most beautiful scenery and adventurous trek. The region favors the temperate and sub-alpine type of vegetation. Some of the abundant wildlife found in the region are deer, monkeys, Himalayan tahr, Pika, Fox, Wild dog, Red Panda, Langur, Himalayan Black Bear, Marten, Himalayan Weasel, Leopard Cat, Goral, Himalayan Musk Deer, Clouded Leopard, Snow Leopard etc. you can also see different varieties of migratory birds in the region.

The trail of Langtang region trekking are mostly served with tea houses (accomodiation in lodge) making your trekking more comfortable. Langtang region trek also includes the trekking to one of the most popular pilgrimage site at Gosainkunda Lake.  Trek to Langtang region usually commences from the Sundarijal which is at one hour drive distance from Kathmandu. Langtang region trekking offers you the most spectacular mountain views of the majestic mountain peaks like Langtang Lirung, Ganesh Himal, Dorje Larkpa, Hiunchuli and many other Himalayan range over (6000m) and (7000 m). The major ethnic groups of people living in the area are Sherpa and Tamangs. From Langtang region one can easily move to the Helambu region.
